a two-basin business model

Permian Basin

WPX entered the Delaware side of the basin in 2015 by purchasing RKI E&P. Today we have have decades of drilling inventory underlying 131,000 net surface acres.

Williston Basin

We hold 85,000 net acres in North Dakota. We’re developing new wells from the Bakken Shale and Three Forks formation. Roughly 85% of the production mix is oil.

WPX has an emerging infrastructure portfolio in the Permian Basin, starting with a joint venture for a crude oil gathering system and natural gas processing plant.
