Technological Innovation

We are transitioning to new fit-for-purpose rigs, built specifically for Pennsylvania’s narrow roads, and are on track to average about three new rigs each year. These rigs are designed with a self-raising derrick that eliminates the need for a crane.

Acquisitions in the Marcellus

Our operations manager, regulatory manager and senior landman talk about acquisitions, hydraulic fracturing, safety and the environment.

Committed to Pennsylvania

Like the prior state slogan, “You’ve got a friend in Pennsylvania,” we’ve already given grants to The Susquehanna Free Library Association, literacy programs, a fire department, fairs, the YMCA, a health system and more. We employ 45 people in our offices, many of them local.

Vendors and service providers we’ve used in Pennsylvania

Susquehanna County

We’ve been in the Marcellus Shale since June 2009, with operations of more than 88,000 net acres.

Our current activity is focused in Westmoreland and Susquehanna counties. We now have an interest in more than 100 natural gas wells in the Keystone State.

Operational Efficiency

Drilling times have continued to improve − down from as high as 45 days to a record 10.8 days. And our completion costs decreased 46 percent during 2011 and 2012. We completed 32 new wells on a gross basis in 2013, and 50 in 2012.

Leading the way in water management is, in part, how we demonstrate our respect for the environment. Recently, U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado toured our Grand Valley Water Management Facility in Parachute. The senator was impressed with the 95% reduction in truck traffic accomplished through our water recycling efforts. Learn more about our innovative water management practices: http://goo.gl/kgGGVT
