we care about building a good record everywhere we work.

Land

We seek innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. Whether it’s working for close to a year with Nabors Drilling Company to modify an existing rig to fit into the tight narrow canyons of the Rockies, or working on a three-year effort to create an environmental assessment plan for the Middle Mesa project in New Mexico, WPX is committed to the environment.

Water

In Colorado, we recycle nearly 100% of our water and have won environmental awards for those efforts. We’ve made multimillion-dollar investments in infrastructure and technology at our water treatment facilities, because it’s the right thing to do. In the process we’ve eliminated hauling 90,000 truckloads of water per year.

Hydraulic Fracturing

WPX was one of the first in line to voluntarily disclose details about hydraulic fracturing on a national registry – even before states required this data. You can read our full disclosures here under “WPX Energy”.

WPX is building relationships with San Juan College School of Energy. In fact, the San Juan Basin is home to our company's first natural gas properties (circa 1983). Jordan Domingo (front left) and Jerrick Sandoval (front right) are recipients of a scholarship program we support. WPX is proud to help promote our industry to young people who are considering careers in oil and gas.
