Deciding where to start your career is a big decision. We can point you in the right direction. We have several programs for recent college grads that can help you put your knowledge, passions and pursuits on the map.

Internships at WPX are a good way to get experience and a great way to start your career at WPX after you graduate. We look to our interns first when we’re filling entry-level positions.

We offer internships in:

  • Petroleum Engineering (Drilling, Completions, Production, Reservoir) both in the office and in the field
  • Geology – Operations and Exploration
  • Land
  • Environmental – Focused on Air and/or Water

Rotations

Rotations at WPX give new grads the opportunity to see different areas of the company before deciding on a particular professional niche. The program lasts for three years. Participants rotate to a different functional area once a year.

Engineering Rotations

This exposes you to different disciplines, multiple basins and different locations at WPX. Rotations include:

  • Drilling
  • Completions
  • Production
  • Reservoir
  • Non-Operated

Business Rotations

This provides participants with the ability to see several shared service functions while rotating through different operational groups. Rotations include, but are not limited to:

  • Acquisitions and Divestitures
  • Quality Assurance
  • Business Improvement
  • Accounting
  • Treasury
